Good for the money.
I've got a Charles Daly 1911, made by the same parent company. Good gun. Looks like death warmed over due to lots of time in a holster, and the barrel is pretty shot out, but it's reliable. I'd liken it to my Chevy Cobalt. It's no Corvette, but it runs and don't look too bad. Unless it's parked next to a Corvette. The RIA is also getting high marks from those who own them, I don't have one myself. The Springfield GI, as mentioned, isn't much more money. I'd feel comfortable buying either one.
