Tisas 1911

Went to the LGS today and they had a sign up advertising the Tisas 1911 for $349.99. It was clone of the military 1911A1 with the lanyard loop. Looked very original, fit and finish were good, not great but good. For a reenactor it would do very nicely and for a person looking for a budget SD/HD gun the price is excellent. Have read some reviews and seems to be a decent quality firearm. I'm real tempted but already have a 1911.

I'm eyeballing one of those at the moment myself. Just a little turned off by the Made in Turkey stamp on one side and US ARMY on the other. I can live with either stamp but both on the same gun doesn't look right.
They do make one just like it without the US Army stamp or lanyard loop though.

My best friend just bought one, having had my RIA 1911 for a while (until I bought it back) and liked it. It is every bit as good as the RIA; a serviceable , reliable M1911A1 clone for (in his case $329) a low price.

They have a great finish and a couple of guys I know have been giving them a whirl. They rave about them. Claims they are much better than the standard RIA guns. How can you go wrong for $350? If it runs and shoots with decent accuracy it is a bargain. I plan on adding one to my herd real soon.

My local shop has a Tisas 1911 in 9mm and a Rock Island GI in 9mm. The RIA had a better finish on it. What surprised me was the weight difference between the two. The Tisas was noticeably heavier than the RIA. The RIA was only $50 more so I went with it since I have several other RIA 1911s and have always had good luck with them.

No, but my very experienced 1911 trigger finger says 4.5-5.5# standard grittiness for a new gun, should break in fine. I was impressed overall with the gun. Ran fine with ball, HP, and my reloads. (which are 5.0 bullseye, coated 230 lrn.)

Ironically, I put an NOS GI barrel into my RIA, and it shot a little better than the RIA barrel.

I had a basic GI Tisas 1911. It was reliable and a good shooter.

I would look around a lot or see if you could possibly dry fire one. Or maybe you are comfortable working on a trigger?
Is this the Zig M1911 you are talking about or something new? The Zig M1911 had some harsh reviews a few years back. Maybe this is a new one??

I have one, an A2 TISAS (ZiG) that I bought about three years ago. It's a rock-solid shooter with FMJ. I haven't tried anything else with it. I bought it to orient myself to the 1911, as a range gun, and maybe a truck gun. I'm very pleased. That's about what I paid for it (I have since acquired another 1911 from a different maker.)
