Looking for some reccomendations on a safe. Criteria:
Must be able to fit in a closet.
Must have longgun and handgun storage. I don't have a huge collection, just a few of each that would be in the safe. Maybe 6-8 longguns and a few handguns.
Must have space for important papers.
Must be fireproof.
I need to start budgeting the funds out to make the purchase soon. We're putting our house up for sale and I don't want people seeing my gun cases in the closet. Too tempting....

You need 2 safes.

A safe for your gun storage needs, and a fire resistant safe (or file cabinet, or key locking box) for your paperwork.

You should not store firearms in a document safe, and you should not store documents in a gun safe. There is currently no safe that is large enough for guns, light enough to go into a house, and in the same price range as your typical gun safe, capable of providing that type of protection.

As pointed out already, it's not very likely you will find any one safe that meets all your needs, you may be able to come close.

Check out this company** (the 2419 series will fit thru the door of a typical closet):

Sturdy

You could always do what others have done, and that is get a safe* that will securely hold your guns and then get a fireproof/waterproof file/document container such as this:

from Walmart or Officemax (or other such place) and put it on the floor or one of the (adjustable) shelves in the larger safe.

*not going to get into the of "safe" vs "rsc" thing
**They do offer a fireproofing

if you are selling the house get a good gun safe (larger than you think you need)
and put in in a storage place. with unit alarms.

min 40 min to 350* fire rating,
min 1in bolts on top and bottom of the door (larger safes have up to 1 1/2 in bolts.)
min 3/8 thick walls,
and bolt it down to the floor (just do not tell the manger of the storage place)
plug holes when you leave.
