I was a 1911 guy (and Browning 1935) from the mid 60s until 1990 when I bought a Glock 17 and found out you couldn't kill it, it was accurate enough and fast to get into play with no manual safties . In the early 2000s , after 2001 I became interested in the Beretta 92 service pistol and had trainers from LAPD SWAT school me in it ! I really had no interest in Sig other than the P210-5 target pistol I had bought 10 years before and knew it was exceptionally accurate and exceptionally lame with heel clip mag release and 8 round capacity like a WW2 Walther P38. I did like the decocker angle tho. I bought a Tangfolio Witness Compac in .40 and it is a real tank and nice and a CZP01 that was so nice my daughter in law ran off with it (with my Blessing) .
So I had the opportunity to buy as new in box Tritium sighted Stainless Sig P239 in .40 with extra 9mm barrel and many mags from the Monterey PD Detective Bureau for cheap , $500 each . I went thru a few and picked the best one and it was very smooth. I put Hogue aluminum grips on it and stripped it and figured how to install the SRT kit in it . I Bought an IWB Galco holster and a Paddle holster for it and everyday carried it from around 2014- 2020 . It was incredibly smooth DA and the SRT kit made the SA pop and it handled wonderfully for me , very accurate and the older I got the safer I felt with the Decocker ! At 28 .oz or so it wasn't that heavy for a .40 S&W and smooth like a bar of soap in the SAS version .I started to like Sigs !
In 2017 I bought a Nitron P226r in .357 Sig and fell in love with the incredible performance and relatively soft recoil . Extremely reliable, I have yet to have a jam of any sort. I bought a .40S&W barrel , which drops right in and I already reloaded for .40 S&W. I bought a second slide with 9mm threaded barrel for it and the hi cap 9mm mags work great ! What versatility !
In 2020 I bought a late 90s German made P220 in .45 as new in box and marvelled at the smooth trigger pull, and it was just thinner and lighter than the P226 to pack IWB , tho I came to prefer other ways to carry it . The P220 and P226R both fit same holsters , with no light on the rail of the P226R.
I had Simply Rugged Leather make me their Cuda Holster , actually two Cudas , one on their "Chesty Puller" chest rig and one with double mags pouches on their "Man's leather belt " . I wanted to Mount a Red Dot optic on the P226 to seize its long range capability in .357 Sig . I did not want to have the slide machined and be stuck with it when I switched calibers so installed the
MEPRO MicroRDS: Red Dot Micro Sight with a Holosun 507K. I also converted both the P220 and the P226r to E2 grip upgrade.
In 2022 I had a chance to get Gray Guns "go thru" both guns with their ELS trigger system adding the SRT and fat struts and guide rods . They replaced lots of springs and pins ect and polished every thing that needed polishing and fitting to blueprint + specs. I now have two slicked up pistols with almost matching 6 pound DA and 3 pound SA short reset triggers with minimal take up and overtravel ! They run like watches ! I can draw the old P220 .45 and clean a rack of plates VERY quickly.
My latest purchase last year is a Sig PXten and am working on that, Gray Guns trigger , and a Holosun 509T on a C&H plate with red Chevron , Olight Baldor S lazer/light on the rail and Angry Bear dayglo green Tall iron sights to low cowitness in the Red Dot . Talon Rubber grip overlay really helped me with recoil sting. I have Gray Guns Mag well System and extended +4 19 round GrayGun mag extensions. Rob Leahy made me a holster to go on my Chesty Puller rig and a double Mag pouch and a light / mag pouch . I don't have pictures of the Xten right now, here are the others tho:

I really like Sig's DA/SA hammer fired pistols. I carried a P239 for several years and it is the best carry gun I've owned to date. I let me son have it as a graduation present when he graduated college. I replaced it with a P225-A1. While the 225-A1 is a fine pistol, as I've posted here before, the baseplates on the magazines have very sharp corners and are extremely uncomfortable when carried as spares in a mag holster on the belt. Sig blew it with that design flaw.

My Sig fantasy pistol would be the love child created by a P938 and 290RS. Drop the innards of a 290RS into a 938 frame. That would be a pocket carry winner!

My 1st SIG was a P239, and strangely, I didn't care for it. Years later, the SIG bug bit me again, and I now have more SIG autos than any other brand.View attachment 1143846

Would like to get another P238 and a P210 eventually. :)

The plastic SIGs have no appeal to me, however.

Haha, similar for me somewhat.

I have more Sigs than I care to admit, and somehow the metal guns continue to underwhelm me. Exception being the 220 Legion in 10 mm.

Funny thing is, I much more prefer their plastic guns and I am more of a metal guy.

Out of my plethora of 10’s, this 220 Legion is my favorite Ten in auto. With exception of my Bren Tens, but they are retired.

THAT is a sweet 10!

I didn't say addicted to Sigs, I said Affection for when I reached my senior years less than 15 years ago . It has been a growing affection tho. I don't need a P365 sized gun tho, I love my two Walther PPS M1 s , the 9mm has a Red Dot sunk in and they both take lights. The .40 PPS has become my sons pocket rocket .

Before I bought my Sig I called my Brother-In-Law who was a LEO for a long time until he retired and carried Sigs ever since they switched to semi-autos from revolvers. He loves the P226 but that was too big for me as I want to carry it. Had a good time talking guns with him.

If I had to start over looking for the best EDC concealed carry pistol the P 365 would certainly top the list . It is actually an improved P320 design and good aftermarket stuff if readily available. Sig makes a P365 Model for everybody !

My first SIG was a Browning BDA .45 and I'm here to tell you that gun could shoot! Right out of the box, with match ammo, this gun could run all day and night like it was a Colt Gold Cup but without any of the drama of a dedicated target pistol! The ergonomics were so surprisingly good (as were the trigger and the sights), and was so easy to shoot that my 16 year old sister (who had never fired a gun before that night), gave a mighty decent accounting for herself at the range with that .45!

The next SIG in my life was a P226 and while it was reliable and accurate as the BDA, it was a bit too wide in the grip frame, so much so that at times I had trouble reaching the DA trigger consistently (no doubt because of my small hands)!

Then there was a P228 that my brother let me borrow while he was away on business and this one to me was a real winner! I don't know what SIG did when they designed the P228 as to afford me a comfortable grip and easier trigger reach but it was definitely a change for the better! This gun was also super reliable, so much so that being capable of firing any and all ammo through it, that I used this gun mostly for testing my various handloads that I turned out. Unfortunately for me my brother took his gun back when he returned home so I was on the lookout for a new SIG to replace the P228 and found it in a like new P229R!

This P229R had all the usual bells and whistles on it as far as SIGs go but it also had some nice extras, starting with the SRT (Short Reset Trigger), the grip frame rail, night sights, and the E2 grips. This SIG checked off all of the boxes for a gun that I wanted to use primarily as a Home Defense gun and it fills that role very nicely!

Recently I went on a bit of a SIG buying binge, adding a P365X and a M18 to the mix. The P365X is slotted to take a place in my CCW rotation while the M18 is meant primarily as a range gun/handload tester for the time being.

Bought my first and only Sig a few years ago, a P229 SAS. Turned out to be my most accurate pistol. I acquired it to give to my son and he enjoys it.

I went the other way. Back in the far far away time in that long long ago land I was really into Sigs. I had a 230 and 226 and 225 and the first iteration of the Sig Poly (2009) and a 210 and I think maybe one more. Of course also had the JP Sauer & Sohns 38hs.

The only Sig left is the P230 and it almost never gets to go WalkAbout.

We have two Sigs. A P365. When picking a pistol my wife could use and carry, I let her pick which pistol fit in her hand the best. She picked the Sig 365. I picked up a P227 in December, boy was I impressed. It fit my bigger hands like a glove, shot well and easy to take apart. Looks great with wooden grips. I am finding myself looking at getting some other models. It is a growing affection.

I'm a big SIG fan myself, but for me it started in my late 30s or early 40s. I had a .40 P229 and a 9mm P226 that I sold around 10 years ago when I needed the money more than I needed the guns. I have a P290RS that I've had for quite some time, a .45ACP P250 Compact that I have had over a decade, and now two P365s. I finally replaced my .40 P229 with another about 5 years ago. I have my eye on the P220 in either 10mm or .45ACP, and I've long wanted a P239. I'm also thinking a 9mm P229, M11 or 2022 might be nice.

German engineering
sometimes great ! Other times , bleh.. I have an HK 23 , to shoot .45 Supers or too hot .45acp ammo that other than my S&W 4506 might swallow .I can't bring myself to sell the Mark 23 , yet it truly is a large scupture of German Engineering ! It is BEAST , but very sexy. I would never EDC it , not really a defensive pistol ! With a big ole suppressor it is a trip. The only HK pistol I would own.

Somehow I wound up with only Sigs, sold off everything else.
P229's in 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 Sig, a 226 9mm and 220.
Had a 225 and wish I kept that one, got a 365 for EDC now, only striker gun.

I have the ELS in everything but the 220, GGI doesn't make one for the West German ones but I did put an E2 strut with updated hammer and SRT.
My results are the same, smooth 6 lb DA and crisp 3 lb SA with GGI and TSA struts, 20 lb mainspring and Armory Craft hammers.

True they do not make the ELS for the internal extractor P220 of the West German made ones. The trigger hole is narrower too and they have to widen the hole slightly to get in a non straight adj trigger. They did polish up another trigger bar for mine and with tweaks here and there managed to match the 6 #DA 3# SA trigger and with an SRT added it is same short reset with no extra freeplay as the ELS P226R . GG is the Place ! I almost got a job there but current Oregon politics and my 76 years young got in the way. I was part of the family for two weeks training late last summer . I had both knees replaced after and then the November elections . By December my bubble burst , it really was gonna be a dream job labor of love but was more of a "pipe dream" and I'll be seeing them regularly as my son bought a Lake house nearby and I plan on summering there.

I had no experience with Sig pistols until about two years ago.The local sheriff dept had ordered a dozen P320 Compacts in 45,but one of the county's very outspoken pot stirrers threw a fit with the county commissioners and gathered enough like minded(and mouthed)people who had nothing better to do than cause trouble to join her and they made the dept. cut their order to 8.The dealer that sold them put a doozy of a price on the leftovers and when the store Mgr. pulled me to the side and took another 50 off,I decided to try it.I'd never had a Sig or a striker fired pistol before.I made the statement that I couldn't shoot one of those boxy looking things with their creepy, mushy triggers and plastic frames.I quickly found out that I could shoot it pretty good,as good or better than my 1911 as a matter of fact.A few weeks after the first 320 in 45,I got an M17 because I wanted a 9MM.And then I got a Wilson Combat enhanced P320 in 9MM,which has the Gray Guns trigger in it.Strangely,I shoot the M17 better than the Wilson pistol, and I haven't figured that out yet.I ran onto a P365 with the same color scheme as the M17 and I bought it.That little pistol impressed the heck out of me,both in accuracy and reliability. It also impressed my wife and she took ownership of it.I then bought what I consider the best concealed carry pistol I've ever had,a P365XL with a manual safety.I put a Wilson Combat grip on it,and I can shoot it almost as well as any pistol I have, with the exception of the last Sig I bought,a P210A.That one is just insanely nice!Rarely do I think about a firearm's looks, but that P210 is as pretty to look at as it is accurate.I can just sit around and look at it and not get tired of it.I can only say good things about any of my Sig guns.

I understand your attraction to Sig pistols. I started my pistol collection entirely devoid of semi autos, it was solely revolvers. Then ventured into 1911s, and Desert Eagles. I eventually made my way into the double stack semi auto world with a 10mm EAA Witness Match Elite. For years that was it and then one day I saw a deal for a new FNX 40 for a ridiculously low price from a reputable dealer and jumped at it. Wow! I was really diggin' this DA/SA semi auto thing. Started buying all sorts of iterations from various MFGs, then landed on a Sig P226 in 40. German made. Long story short I bought 3 of them and a 9mm P226 legion. I was hooked. Then got a p224, which I like for a subcompact 40...pretty stellar little handgun. Even ventured into the striker fired p365 and M17. Both are excellent but I still prefer the DA/SA's. Would love it if they came out with a P22.. double stack variant in 10mm. A sub compact, and a full size. I keep on dreaming. I also have a curiosity about whether or not the P227 could withstand a 460 Rowland conversion. Anyway I wish I had discovered Sig handguns sooner in life. And yes, Sig is where it's at!
