When I started reloading I read all over this forum for which lead boolit company to go with. I settled on Master Cast. I know there are two, but (http://mastercastbullets.com/). I called to place my order b/c they don't take credit card. Mike was very friendly and helpful. He talked to me for 30 min. I sent him a check and received my boolits. They were good boolits. I lived in AK at the time and found a cheap local source so i ended up not ordering from Mike for a bit. 6 months later Mike sends me a letter saying he just found my check and the bank won't take it. So I happily send him another one. Later I left AK and needed to find another Lead provider.

I went back to Master Cast but decided the inconvenience was not worth it. I wanted to be able to use credit card online. So I did some more searching on THR and found Dardas Cast Bullets. I went to their web site. It wasn't the best to deal with. I finally got to the checkout and it said my usual order for 2000 45 swc would not fit in the one flat rate charge and I would be contacted for the shipping price :uhoh: Maybe it would have worked, but the hassel???

I decided to go another route. I started looking on THR again. Decided to go with Missouri Bullets. Great site, great product, and military discount. This is what other bullet companies should strive for. Maybe I’m lazy. I just like the convenience. I don’t mind spending a little extra for a good product and a little convenience. I thought about trying Kead Bullets the other day, but again no online order. So I’ll stick with Missouri bullets.

What do you guys think?

missouri bullets was so easy and fast I don't forsee me looking anywhere else. If they can keep that up, I'll keep ordering.

I am toying with the idea of getting into making my own just for the fun of it... we'll see.

I think the Dardas family cant fit as many in a box because they do such a good job packaging it. I recently got an order from them, 2k 9mm in a flat rate box. Not a square cm to waste. There was about 4 extra pieces of cardboard around every side of the box. The flat rate box they came in look liked usps dropped it multiple times. There was even a small hole in one of the corners of the box. Not a single one got out because they were in a bag, within a box, surrounded by 4 layers of cardboard, within another box. They can't fit as much becuase they protect it so well, but that does kinda suck they cant fit 2k 45's in a flat rate box when others do. Maybe they would if you ask, but they would have to use less packing material, at your risk. :neener:

Dardas accepts cards, and isnt Mike setting up his site to?

Keads does online orders, gotta be at least 5k if I remember right, and he takes cards. Heres a discussion about him. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69583

Have to agree with the above poster about how happy I've been with Dardas bullets. That being said I admittedly haven't dealt with any shipping costs or limitations (or the website) since he's only about an hour and a half away - any time I've spoken to or dealt with him he's been prompt with a high quality product I couldn't be much more satisfied with.

That being said, I'm not knocking or boosting anyone else really. Felt it was worth saying that Matt Dardas is a good guy with an excellent product. I'm sure MasterCast, or MBC for that matter, will serve you right with a good product if it's more convenient for you in some fashion.

Right, its all about convenience. All the reputable big name casters have good products. Just some of them are cheaper than others, some are faster at shipping, some have better payment methods, and some have better selection. Pick which ever company works best for you.

And your not obligated to stick with one company either, if they didn't meet your expectations then try another.

True. They do pack very well from what I hear and that is valuable, but i'm a 2000 45 guy and other company's can accomidate.

Yes, atleast that's what his site says.

Exactly. And everyone that I have dealt with on the phone is very helpfull. i'm by no means trying to knock any company. I just think if the companies put a little more effort into there website/ordering it would help there company. Oh and I too want to start casting. But my addiction needs to be filled while I wait :D

So... We just found the guy's that have all the primers!! ;)

I started making my own bullets because of the prices. I agree with the convenience subject. I hate to make a second effort to purchase one item. How spoiled are we ?

Have not bought from either Master Cast, but that may change.

I have bought (locally) from Kead, and they make a good bullet. I've read a number of posts from people that have had communication problems and delivery problems.

I have bought from Penn, and their product is good too. My one order was about two years ago, and took a good little while, even back then.

I would imagine that all lead boolit makers (just like ammo manufacturers, primer makers, suppliers, etc.,) have been in mega-demand mode for about a year now.

It will get better some day soon. :)
