Decided to give my daily user a bit of cleaning and give the 52100 blade steel a coat of wax.

Blade had all kinds of Christmas present sticky stuff on it.... yes those are spots on the blade , it was left in the coin pocket and went thru the wash a few times. Hey it's a user , not a safe queen !

Some of my knives

The first knife I ever owned, an Imperial Barlow that my dad gave me around 1977 or 78:

An Imperial 432, which was a gift for my Bar Mitzvah in 1981:

The first knife I bought with my own money, in the early 80s, and to which I've returned as my EDC, a Victorinox Pioneer (the finish is even more worn now):

Nessmuk Trio, consisting of a Case CV Trapper, 'hawk bought at Dixon's Muzzloading Shop, and a Condor Nessmuk:

Finnish Puukko from Cloudberry Market with LH sheath that I made:

Here are 3 of my favorites:

The Polkowski Kasper pug is just a great over all system for the enthusiast. Admittedly, a bit of a single purpose item, but well designed and made.

The Perrin/Spyderco is a super convenient, small EDC fixed blade.

The original recipe Phantom is even worse than the Polkowski, so far as single-mindedness goes, but it's such a wickedly cool blade; just a great example of the sort of work that put Allen on the map.

Check out the concave grind on the back side of the chisel blade.

Newest Addition

Here's the latest in a long history of addiction to sharp things

Bark River Trail Buddy

Holds an edge well, and has been a great bushcraft knife. I'm well pleased.
God Bless,
Aaron

DSCN0082.jpg my two custom hunting knives made by good friend Shelby Jones

DSCN0084.jpg My Cattaraugus 225Q next to an M4 Camillus bayonet

DSCN0090.jpg My much used Old Timers, The broken on in the middle was my fathers first knife. He melted the tip cross arcing the starter on his car when he was 17 :banghead:. He took a dremel to it and gave it to me. Its like a razorblade and has earned a spot as designated fish cleaner

DSCN0089.jpg My much more used Old Timers

DSCN0092.jpg Those first two Case knives on the left are the pride of my collection, given to me by my grandfather and not made in China. Followed by a Camillus, a Gerber, a Barlow on the bottom left and the last 2 are Bucks

DSCN0095.jpg The Gerber on the left is my carry knife and the next 2 were my Christmas presents

Berkley,
Thank you very much for the information. I've had a couple dozen blades picked up at gun shows, gun auctions, etc. that I haven't paid much attention to. Time to put some labels on them, age creeps on relentlessly.

It was the sight of JTW's John Lloyd at the top of this page that set me on a quest for such a beautiful knife. I finally acquired an amber stag knife this week, but I could not afford to have John make me one, having recently purchased a rosewood Shadow he made in October.

So, here is my Queen Mountain Man along with the Lloyd Shadow. Sorry for the photo quality, I just took them outside after the Queen arrived today, sat them on a stump from the wood pile and took a couple quick shots.

Todd, that knife you just posted looks like the most beautiful knife I've ever seen. Seriously, I don't know what inspired you on this one, but it's the bee's knees!

Todd, that is about the best I have seen from you, I like symmetry, and this has it all over. If that was done as a Copperhead type to sink the joint, it would be perfect.
I love the blade shape, the handle shape, the colors and form overall. Sweetness.

We need to put a disclaimer on this thread!

...Jees guys...

everyone who feels like they´re gonna be broke
cause the saw at least 2 dozen MUSTHAVES
in this thread .-.. raise their hand....

I can´t get over that Custom Gauch knife....
( to just quote one...)
