A tour to Geissele automatics

From left to right goes Mark, Ratgunner, Ken and Barb.

I went to visit my friends at Geissele ( down the block from me ) and get a trigger installed as usual. They showed me a new prototype that they asked me to try and I instantly had to have it, they told me this is the only one left and can't give it to me. so I went to the best bakery shop in town and got them a strawberry short cake as a bribe.

10 minutes later, they installed it in one of my rifles.

Here is a description of the trigger by bill the owner:

The Geissele Super 3 Gun trigger you have in your REAPR is one of about 15 prototypes. The pull has been designed to be similar to the Full Automatic pull on our Super Select-Fire trigger we do for USSOCOM. The Automatic pull on the SSF trigger is unique. It is a long, smooth, linear pull where the shooter feels a sensation of falling off a cliff. What we noticed when shooting automatically is that this ‘walking off a cliff’ pull tricked the shooter into keeping both eyes open as there was no instantaneous moment where he said ‘pull NOW’ or could anticipate the discharge. Shooting automatically with the SSF was different and unique.

With the S3G trigger we changed the same full automatic pull into a semi-automatic only pull, shortened it up and gave it a lightning fast reset. It’s not a single stage but it’s own unique hybrid trigger pull. Here is how I would describe the pull:

*The shooter starts pulling against a trigger resistance that plateaus at 3.5lbs.

*The trigger moves back smoothly for a short distance, like it’s on ball bearings

*The weapon discharges. Nothing proceeds the discharge, no second stage, no increase in pull, no stacking of weights as the hammer is cammed down

*After a short overtravel the shooter can just relax his finger a bit and the trigger resets and is ready for the next shot….all without going back to the beginning of the trigger pull

The trigger is not designed for those seeking a light pull such as a varmint shooter or benchrest shooter would want. It’s designed for Rapid Target Engagement, laying down accurate-high volume fire.

One of the guys who has Mod 2 prototype can shoot 12 rounds in 1.5-1.9 seconds."

Thanks, I'm always interested to see where these things come from (I'm always haunting factories here) especially since I just pinned one of their units into my competition AR.
