I'd buy it.

Is the finish actual metal plating or spray paint? Looks like paint to me. Take it apart and see what you have!

Don't waste time on going to the local palm/card reader just buy it and play lottery/local casino as fast you can.
Lastly, change your THR's name for lucky or something.

I would likely pick it up, cycle the action once or twice, try the trigger, and keep it in my hand while getting out the drivers license for the 4473.

But I suspect that this conversation is already moot.

People are so excited for the OP to buy it they haven’t read the whole thread to know it’s already gone…

I was not the first to contact him. It was sold around the time I saw the ad :(

But my Henry arrived today so it should be in my hands by the end of the week :)

Win some, lose some…But Hey, you have a silver lining. :)

What I like about one local gunshop was when my son was in the market for a .30-30 336 Marlin but wanted to try the used gun on the rack before buying it, the dealer closed up shop, we drove to the club range and test fired it. Function and accuracy proved good.

OP's gun:

The grey finish (ceracote?) would not be a deal breaker if I were buying a gun for use.
Function and accuracy would be the deal maker/breaker if I were in the market for a .22 lever action.

But I got my lever-action bases covered. I already have a .22 Marlin 39A Mountie, .30-30 Marlin 336W, .38spl/.357mag Rossi 92, and .177 Daisy Red Ryder (for which I bought an eyepatch).
