I wrote about loading Winchester AA shotshell hulls. I had a problem as some hulls have a slight bulge after the final crimp. I was told that I need to adjust the final crimp (I use a MEC 600 Jr.) as the 'new' AA hulls are softer than old ones. I tried adjusting so it would not crimp as hard. It got rid of the bulge but the crimp looks awful. Is there another adjustment I have to make? Maybe to the first crimp?

I'm considering selling the rest of my AA shells and sticking to STS's. :)

I too had some problems when I first started loading shotshells on a manual Grabber. I would suggest you do what I did, call MEC customer service and have them walk you through the adjustment procedures. They were quite helpful to me and I'm sure you will get the same good service. :)

I had the same problem and to solve it, I had to use a washer as a spacer under the pre-crimp station. Now they crimp just fine, at least it worked for me. Lm

I use a MEC jr. to reload 28 gauge and I reload old AA, old AAHS, new AAHS and Remington STS on it. For the Remingtons, I do have to adjust the precrimp and final crimp a little; otherwise it works fine for all of the AA's.
