I see a lot of accronyms and abbreviations being used here, but I'm not sure what they all mean.

I've worked out (I think) that
LEO = LAw Enforcement Officer
CCW = Concealed Carry Weapon
(or something similar)

I'm guessing RKBA is something to do with Right .... Bear Arms (what's the K?)

There are others too that I see a lot, but can't remember them off hand.

(Forgive me if they seem obvious to you, but I'm not a shooter or an American, so I don't know the jargon).

iapetus,

RKBA stands for Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Which is slightly different than RKAB, or the right to keep and arm bears. :D

IMO, CCW is the best way to express your RKBA, and IIRC, once they get used to it, most LEO's find a CCW helps them determine who the good guy is ASAP.

It also teaches criminals TANSTAFL.

Of course when CCW, or CWP's are issued in a various states like MI, or MO, anti's fueled with rhetoric from the VPC and MMM, start acting like it's TEOTWAWKI.

:D

LLEA=Local Law Enforcement Agency

IIRC=If I recall

IMHO=In my humble opinion

TYVM=Thank you very much

I am sure we will remember more, but these may help.

FTE = Failure to Extract
FTF = Failure to Feed

Then all the bullet abbreviations

FMJ = Full Metal Jacket also referred to as ball ammo
JHP = Jacketed Hollow Point
HP = Hollow Point
and more that I cant recall at this time.

I think this wesbite should create a Lexicon, where people can submit things like this. That way when someone hasa question they can refer to the Lexicon.

AWGTHTGTTA????

Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P. shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T. 'cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could become a M.I.A. and then we'd all be put out on K.P. :D :p

YGLT.

Even in a SHTF or TEOTWAWKI situation when the THREATCON is high, and where people are practicing their RKAB instead of their RKBA, TANSTAAFL. Furthermore, YHGMTPO acronyms and how important they are to .org's such as ourselves. In fact, NICBDAT and acronyms. I hope I have enlightened you. Now, PSBTYL.

ANFAWFOS, Oleg!!! everyone give him a hand...

:scrutiny: :scrutiny: Sorry. I couldnt resist.:scrutiny: :scrutiny:

Moot point. The Acronyms section has been replaced with a link to www.acronymfinder.com and a link to a DoD acronyms list. I've submitted a few acronyms they seem to be lacking (FTE and FTF, in particular). I think it's better to rely on them than to try to maintain an acronyms list here. The old one is still on the other end of Mal's link, above, but is no longer linked from the main library page.
