Absolute best feeling auto?

1911 and BHP. Can't pick between them really; whichever one I'm holding at the time I feel to be 'the very best'.

Many years ago, I used to like the P-08 best and it's still good, but feels muzzle-light to me now.

Those are just autos as the original poster asked. But Best Ever may well be a Colt SAA 5.5". Handle one for a while, you'll see what I mean. Truly dream-like in its wonderfulness. :D

For me it's the Colt Government Model, flat mainspring housing, short trigger, standard grips (NO rubber wraparound) and a wide (but NOT upswept) grip safety.

Actually the Olympic Arms Safari gripframe fits my hand perfectly and I'd own one except I can't find anyone who will mill it for the Series 80 parts.

For me it would be my 229 or my Ruger 345. The 345 is fairly new in the market so if you haven't picked one up, do. It feels great in my hand.

1911. But then my body was still growing when I took them up and I just grew up around the gun, like a tree growing around an obstacle.
Echoes my feelings, Colt 1911, arched mainspring housing, long trigger. I grew into mine also.:)

The 4" XD feels really good to me, except that my stubby thumb can't reach the magazine release easily. Sold it to a buddy with bigger hands. He loves it.

My CZ-75 is nice. Not perfect, but nice. I'm thinking I should try a set of the soft rubber grips.

Commander-length 1911s seem to settle right into my hands. They feel SO good, but I've not gotten to fire one so I don't know how i'd like actually shooting it.

going off of what I own, I would have to say my Taurus 24/7. Extremely comfortable grip. Controls are all perfectly placed, at least for me. I can hit every control on the gun without shifting my firing grip more than just a teensy bit.

No contest...the pistol that fits my hand the best is the Browning Hi-Power.

Second would be the CZ-75, head to head with the 1911.
