Hi all,

Does anybody know if the Norinco Commander I"ll be picking up soon, accepts Colt/ 1911 parts, or if it needs special proprietery parts?

I plan to make this my CCW, so I want to get a beavertail safety, extended thumb safety, and night sight......possibly a nice new finish like I saw in a post the other day.

Any place to get quality parts online? Really new to 1911's, so any help is appreciated.

Jon:)

The beaver will need to be fitted to the frame unless you do a "drop in" which has unsightly gaps at the tang.

You''ll have a staked front sight so you'd have to go with that type of night sight (Like Trijicons for colt drop in) Unless you want to mill the slide for something like NovaKs. ( about $85 just to mill)

The safety may need some fitting but thats easy.

A barrel and bushing would need some fitting like most new parts in a 1911 for a good fit.

Some Rincos have metric grip screws and bushings.

The rest of the parts will fit just fine.

How do I know? Well I just finished one a while ago. Bren
