Accuracy issues with Remington Model 742

Odd, all three of my 742's in 06 would feed 150's in slow fire or as fast as I could burn em.
No feed issues, ever.
Sold one to a fat guy, jammed.
I met him at the range and shot it........no jam.

I strongly suspect his pillowy physique was "soft shouldering" it ( limp wristing but farther back LOL).
He still has it. I got it cheap, cleaned it up, sold it to him for what I had in it. If he wants to make a bit I'd buy it back.
No rail chew, 1.5" groups for 5 shots w factory ammo,. It needs a synth stock and Gunkoted. Would look pretty darn good then.

I find the 760's to be comfy in .30-06. Butt plate, pump. Lighter.
I dunno.
Buddy has one and says it beats on him. About same size and build.

Ahlmans is the place that converts 742's to pump. That's to get around bolt rail chew.

As for gunsmith parts.............most won't even look at a 742.
I suppose one could try a barrel swap. If they found a known good one (like bbl good, receiver smoked by rail chew).
Remington reportedly has declared the 742 obsolete.

If so, your repair center aint gonna be of much help.

Yes, Ahlmans was the place I was thinking of.
