Accurate 2230-C smokeless powder

Just found 8# canister of the above powder, I must have bought 15 years ago, it has some data on the back of the container for .223, 7mm TCU, 30-30 Winchester, and .308. Is anyone familiar with this powder? I don't believe I used any of this powder as the seal is still intact. So far I can't find any data on the reloading of the powder other than what is on the container. My question is, is this powder any good for .223 as far as accuracy is concerned, and where should I start my loads? I'm sure the stated charge is maximum?

I would compare the loads listed on the container with data listed at their site for A-2460 to double check.

I have some 2230-S I am getting ready to break out and use for .223 plinking ammo. Same thing, bought it some time back cheap. Glad I did now.

I wish I could help with data. Only thing I know to do, if it were me, is use 2230 data and start at -15% from max. Accurate says to reduce 2230 data by 4% for 2230-S.

-C could be slower or faster by even more than 4%.

It says unavailable for 223-C online, but if you call they may be able to help.

Your right Walkalong. They did have a PDF page for the AA2230-C last year. With the new load data version, it's gone. I apologize OP.

NCsmitty, I thank you I just checked my Accurate reloading manual and I found all kinds of loads for it using AA2460. Again I thank you.

Loaded 20 rounds using the 2230C powder using the AA2460 data. Noted the powder meters really well, hopefully it will be accurate. I stayed .5 of a grain below the stated charge of 26.5grns., for 52grn Sierra hpbt and started at 24.5and worked up to 26.0, at .5 of a grn, at a time. Don't know when It will cool off down here to do a range test. This morning at 0730 it was already 99 degrees outside, unbelievable.

2230C was only available for a short time about 10 years ago or so. Military surplus, good powder.
