Accurate # 7 and 9MM 125 gr Conical Nose ?
Does anyone use this powder for 9mm lead bullets ?
I just picked up some as my lgs is finally getting in some powder in stock , I have been using this powder in 44 mag mild/mid loads with good results.
thanks in advance

I don’t but there’s data in the Western book for that combination. AA5 is as slowest AA line I tried for 9mm and I suspect you’ll need to approach maximum to have a clean burning full power load.

Since 124/125 gr lead bullets can vary in weight by 1 gr, I usually interchange load data for 124/125 bullets.

You could reference Hodgdon's lead load data for RN for your CN powder work up - https://www.hodgdonreloading.com/reloading-data-center
  • 9mm 124 gr Lead RN No. 7 COL 1.050" Start 5.5 gr (944 fps) - Max 6.5 gr (1,086 fps)

- Powder doesn't really care about the shape of the bullet, only the construction (jacketed, plated, lead).

- Would you care to be more specific about the intended use ? There is some discussion that No.7 was developed/used extensively in 9mm ammo for silenced sub-machine guns. Is that your application ?

- For SD rounds that you'd like to get to over 1200fps it would be a great powder.
For use with heavy bullets, like 147gr it would be good.
For minimum PF target practice rounds in 115 or 124gr you'd want a much faster powder.

Used #7 under 124/125 grain bullets for decades. Are you looking for data for jacketed or cast?
Load data presented for academic purposes only, my best loads for that weight bullet;

124gr LRN cast lead, 6.4gr AA#7, 1.095 COAL. Good training round.
125gr LRN cast lead, 6.4 gr AA#7, 1.080 COAL. My CZs didn't like this bullet much, far preferred the cast 124 gr Lee Tumble Lube bullet. That's why it's COAL is shorter. I should probably get rid of that mold.
Oddly enough, I never loaded the few 124gr jacketed ball I have had with #7, but I did do a 125gr jacketed soft point, not QUITE the same;
125 Speer JSP, 7.0 gr AA#7, COAL 1.090, the only one I have in the cotesd as "very good" - this was a while ago.

Hope that helps.
