ACOG Scopes...

I've been looking at ACOG scopes by Trijicon. They have one style that I like especially, the TA31TRD.

I'd love to have this scope only... but all of the ones I have seen for sale come with the red dot on top of it. I wouldn't care for the red dot and would like to save some money by not getting it.

Is there any place that sells this model scope with the red dot? I've seen a lot of close looking ones but they have slightly different reticles.

The "TRD" part of the model # means "Trijicon Red Dot," so I don't think it's a negotiable feature on the model. The other TA31 models are basically the same, plus/minus the different reticles. If you're really wanting the reticle pattern on the TA31TRD, you may have a bit of a problem -- though if you can live without the fiber optics, the TA01NSN and a couple of the other TA01 models have the same crosshair reticle.

(As a bonus if you go that route, used good condition TA01NSNs seem to be running around $6-800 on eBay these days, which is quite a bit less than the 31TRD will run you new.)

just get a TA31 model, it will come without the red dot !

Personally i prefer the TA01NSN .. in my mind, the crosshair is more accurate than the TA31 chevron..
