For most of us - the greatest hurdle for experiencing an African hunt is money. I was once told, a long time ago, that if you have to ask how much something costs then you can't afford it.

But, I wonder, if it is possible to save up enough for one African hunting adventure?

I'm thinking a short 5-7 days plains game trip with 3-5 trophies.

Excluding airfare, and assuming the hunter already had his own appropriate rifles and ammo...what is the realistic cost associated with something like this? Including:

The hunt/safari itself, guide fees, tips, trophy fees, taxidermy, shipping of trophies back to the states, and ony other special fees that a virgin visiting african hunter would endure?

I like many others I'm sure, have seen various websites offered by african hunters with prices that seem affordable...but i'm really intimidated by hidden costs. e.g having some 5k adventure turn into a 25k continued spouse reminder...
