Well, its been awhile since I posted so I thought I might share my recent additions to my collection of edged beauties. I added a 4" Mora, number S2. I bought an S1 for my father and he loves it. I also got myself a Black Aluminum Spyderco Cara-Cara with the 8Cr13MoV blade. I got a SUPER deal on a SOG Twitch-II with the limited edition black graphite handles, only $25 due to a damaged clam pack. I also found a CRKT Sawtooth 2000 and bought it rather cheap only to find out that it was ground so horrebly that the tip is flat. It is still being worked on. I also changed out my Cold Steel Ti-Light as an EDC for my Benchmade Monochrome with N690 steel. I Am quiet impressed with these supposedly "lesser" Benchmades and Spydercos. Their extremely sharp and the steels are second to none. I also picked up a Mercator K-55 for $20 from atlanta cutlery. I have been perfecting my honing skills and hope to soon purchase a Black Arkanses Stone to finish my sharpening stone collection. I also added a Case Russlock with black bone handles. It pretty much stays in the box with my Case trapper. I only take them out when I plan to dress up. This all brings me to my questions...Does anyone know anything about the steel that Cold Steel switched to? Its "4116 Krupp Stainless". Why did they stop making blades in Carbon V? Does that make my ODA special? Also, does anyone have any info on the steel my Cara Cara is made of? In closing; I am very happy with my recent additions and I would reccomend the Mora, Cara Cara and Monochrome to anyone that wants a TRUE bargain for a quality knife with a quality price. Step up from crummy 440C (which I see some knife companies try to sell for hundreds of dollars) and get a steel thats superior.
