Anyone have any experience with a good one? Seen ad's for Tapco & Mako, but have no firsthand experience, and would welcome any opinions. Also considering a NATO-length fixed butt-stock from K-VAR, but my wife would probably not find the LOP too comfortable.

I like the UTG AK to AR stock adapter, ~$14 and then you can get the AR stock of your choice.

IMHO the UTG adapter and a Tapco M4-style stock is a better fit than the Tapco M4-like AK stock.

It's been a while since I owned an AK, but if I remember right, I got all of my stuff to put an AR type of stock on mine and I got the parts from ACE. It was rock solid stuff.

I tried the Mako and liked it. It gives you a real good cheek weld and helps bring recoil straight into your shoulder.

MSHOOTNIT, that appears to be a MAKO stock, and Tapco grip and forend. Is that correct?. If so, is that OD or black furniture? Does it all pretty much match? Thank you. :)

In my opinion, the VLTOR and CAA aluminum tubes are best.

The stocks I like best are are the Magpul ACS and the VLTOR EMOD.

I have a new condition aluminum CAA stock tube and flat dark earth MOE stock if anyone is interested PM. New condition but I would make a deal.

I think the CAA aluminum tube or the Vltor tube and the AR stock of your choice are much better options than the Mako or the tapco.

I just picked up the Mako GLR-16 recoil compensating stock from themakogroup.com and i love it. it can go from smaller than your standard stock to longer than your nato.. I havnt got to take to the range yet but out of just feel i can tell im gonna like it.
