I recently purchased 2 very nice like new CZ-52's. One, i plan to leave alone, the other is a shooter. Both guns have 1 major flaw... at any distance past 30ft. they both shoot way too low. I mean at 25 yds., both shoot 2ft. low. Is there any way to remedy this ? Im thinking adjustable rear sight, but i have no idea what sight will fit (by fit i mean with some filing/grinding). Anyone know?

Sight Options

Sight options for the Czech-O-Matic are sort of limited.

At one time makarov.com was selling a "peep" sight, but they were made out of alumimum and probably not all that sturdy in the first place.

In my experience, the grip on the CZ-52 is quite a bit different than the M1911 type, and makes a big difference in point of impact.

Using a 1911 grip almost always results in a low left POI, which does not make a lot of sense as I put hardly any pressure on with the pinkie finger on the .45, which you'd think would make it shoot high.

When I started using a modified grip, laying the thumb firmly along the left side of the frame, gripping firmly with all 3 gripping fingers along the front strap, and getting as much trigger finger into the guard as I can, all of a sudden I started hitting things.

The CZ-52 is a peculiar beast in many ways, :scrutiny: and I guess that it likes to be gripped in a certain way, too.

As for sight mods, I guess you have to make your own (or have a Gunsmith make one) or fiddle with what you've got - add a little weld, perhaps, and re-shape. As issued, there is not a lot to work with.
