The Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 and G2c have second-strike capability, but it seems like a Rube-Goldberg way of doing what a Kahr does with a standard DAO trigger, and IMO the Kahr triggers are much better than the Taurus Millennium G2 PT111 and G2c.

For me I do best with the G2 trigger when I try to treat it like a revolver and just pull through.

The more I tried to treat it like a bullseye pistol, the worse my shot groups became.

I noticed that the SAR B6P is going for $220.00 + 5.00 S&H

Man that is a GREAT deal.

Question, Does the Taurus G2 Have a aluminum sub-chassis or is it steel. If not Steel does it have any steel reinforcements on the rails? I can find a picture anywhere of this gun broken down.

The Ruger American is my choice. It’s a tank of a pistol. That said for some reason it stays mostly in the safe while the Security 9 stays on my belt. I like the American better, it is a better built pistol, but I carry the Security 9. Go figure.

The SCCY is a good one. I have had mine for a few years. I do not like the feel of the grip that much though, my fingers just do not fit the grooves. My brother just bought one as well. Mine has been reliable, brother has only had his a month or so.

By brother does carry a SD40VE. It has been a good one as well. I don’t know of any issues with it.

My daughter has a Taurus PT111 and my nephew carries a PT111G2. They feel good in the hand. I like the G2 better, but would not own either simply because I hate the trigger.

I am a Ruger fanboy, but outside of their revolvers, their MK series 22 pistols and the SR1911 were the only semi automatic pistols they made that I liked. I like the crisp single action triggers. I looked hard at the SR9e, thought it had better features than the standard SR pistols. I ended up with the American and Security9 along with their little brother, the LCPII, simply because of the single action triggers.

Personally I do not think they are in the same Catagory.

I don't think of the SR9c, Ruger American, and Security 9 as being in the same category; simply they had a lot of different offerings in a compact 9mm. that was starting to get a bit overcrowded. I think at last count there were 10 different variations just with the compact version of the American Pistol.

I do agree with mgresh that the American Pistol hasn't seemed to be catching on all that much. Now that I think about it I haven't even seen one at the LGS.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but the new Springfield Armory XD is being re-introduced as the "Defender" series with a price right at $300 as well.

A lot of manufacturers are looking at the entry level budget offerings. There are just so many more 'casual' shooters that go to a range just a handful of times per year and just want a SD handgun.

I really think Ruger Bean Counters have figured this out. They have great customer service. So if a gun fails, they will fix it. The thing is, not many will even make it to the point of getting to where their is a failure. So, they know they can use cheaper materials. The vast majority will just sit in a drawer some where. But Ruger seems like they do more advertising then any company I have ever seen. I do not have the figures, but it just appears that way. Make a cheap gun, repair the few that will be sent in with good customer service, and advertise the hell out of the cheap guns.
Sell em by the thousands.

Where did you see this?

That is just a screen shot from a local range/shop, but they are on SA website under the XD 9. MSRP is $339.

Not sure where prices are at now but right before Christmas I ordered a M&P 2.0 40 compact for $340 shipped (did pay an extra $10 for using a credit card). I thought I got a good deal until a couple of days later when I got an E-mail offering the same pistol for $299 with night sights. If one is patent & knows what they want there are a ton of good deals out there. It isn't a bad idea to keep an eye on gun.deals & if you know what you want gunwatcher can be useful.

No it is the full size service model. It is on the website.

Actually they make both the compact and the service size. The full size is the 5".

Before the wussification of the American male a "service" size auto was considered a 5" barrel.

Ok. I know they make a compact as well. I didn’t realize some only consider a gun with a 5” barrel to be full size. No gun that has been mentioned in this thread has a 5” barrel.

Yea, I don't consider a 4" gun "compact" either, more "mid" sized to me. I do agree that 5" is "full" sized, but I guess it kind of depends on what we were raised on, me being with 5" (Full sized) 1911s.

I suppose ‘mid’ size makes sense but all ‘duty’ and ‘full’ size modern guns are 4” barrels. If they are offered in a 5”, it’s usually on the same frame/grip size.
