Does anyone make an affordable fixed 10x scope? Most of my rifles have 3-9x and I've noticed I never move them from the 9x position. I figure a fixed power scope would be tougher and serve me well. Never heard of a fixed 9x so looking for a 10x, but only ones I've seen are beyond my budget. Is there any in the $150-$250 range?

if you can find some leftover stock, some retailers have some of the discontinued Bushnell Elite 3200 10x mil dot for under 200 bucks

Helluva Bargain to be sure

here is the elite 3200's replacement, the Bushnell Elite

the elite line is a hidden gem in the scope world, quality is equal to that of scopes that go for twice the bushnells price, its not a swarovski or a leica, but its still a great scope...

I have an Elite 3200 3-9x40 (hundreds of rounds through it on my bolt 270), and an older Bausch & Lomb Elite 3000 (identical, also on a 270) and my mom has a 3200 50mm that she absolutely loves

edit: c-grunt beat me to the punch while i was typing

I have an Elite 3200 10x that I bought from Midway with a mildot reticle and mil adjustments. It is a very well built scope. I think it was Super Sniper that had a fixed 10 too for sale on SWFA for just a little more than the Bushnell. I paid 200 for my scope almost a year ago.

The SWFA 10X in either model 10X42 or 10X42HD are very highly rated on the Snipers hide. Resettable turrets, side focus, 30mm tube and a mil-dot reticle.

ETA: Appears the new models no longer have side focus but have a adjustable bell. Same thing in a different location, cost cutting move.

They make several versions of the SS 10x. One is side focus and the other rear focus. They have MOA versions and mil versions and standard and HD glass versions. The basic rear parallax standard glass version is $299. That was the original version of the scope. The side parallax is a recent addition and adds $100 to the price.

I replaced the Bishnell 3200 with a basic SS 10x that I believe to be the better scope and worth the extra 100 bucks. However it is a larger scope if that matters to you.

It's only that much more if you buy the older discontinued models. If you buy the new Bushnell its only 50 bucks more.

I further believe the SS 10x would be a good deal even if it were more expensive.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all, just stating that the SS is a more expensive scope and, I also agree that it performs beyond its price point. Amazing what can happen when you cut out the middle man.

Well, the bushnell seems to be just what I need and at just the right price. The size of the scope doesn't matter much. I'll do some shopping around on the SS scope to see if it is an option for me.

I do not have a 10x, But I do have a 16x and a 20x SS with the mil quad retical. I really like them both! I have had the Bushnell 10x mildot scope in the past. and the SS really is alot better of a scope. I know there is a price difference.. but to me it was worth it.

Search around for the Bushnell Elite 3200 10X. The list price is about $230, but I've seen it as low as $129 because it was discontinued. I got mine for $149 and put it on my 20" flattop AR upper for a nice 100-200 yard plinker.

Have you considered 7.5x? If so you might find a Leupold M8 for sale online. Otherwise, the Bushnell does look like your best bet.

Are you going to a gun show any time soon? I have seen fixed 10Xs used or refurbished at gun shows in Tulsa and KC for well under $200. Not sure of brands, but what you typically get are older Weavers; great scopes, but the fine cross hair is what some don't like.

I just bought one of those from Midway on general principle. Good scope, comes highly recommended and I'm going to be doing the "rifle glass shuffle" soon getting a rifle set up for my son. He'll get a used one, I'll get the shiny new one!

What kind of shooting are you doing that you never move your scopes from 9x??? Seems odd to me to leave a scope on a hunting rifle at 9x and if you're strictly target shooting, then you might want more than 10x.

That said, the Bushnell Elite 10x is excellent.

Over the years I have found a number or 10X Leupold and Burris scopes that I have outfitted some of my varmint rifles with, the straight 6X Leupold is one of my favorite scopes for my deer and pronghorn rifles. Many have come on used guns but the ones I have bought out right were all under $150.
