I've read a lot of threads/post about how to deal with cops after a self defense situation. Most civilians advice would be to shut up and refuse to talk with out your attorney. Is it just that simple? I mean do you just stand there in complete silence?
What if the cop pressures you for details, do you continue to just remain silent? Will that make you you seem guilty?
As far as refusing to answer questions without the presence of your attorney, what if the defense encounter happens at 3 or 4 am? Whose going to be able to get their attorney at wee hours of the morning? Do you go to jail in the mean time until you can get your attorney on the phone?
