My first centerfire was a .30-06 Savage 110, around 1960. It was the first model, with a low comb and it came back...HARD! I was 16 at the time and used it for woodchuck hunting, after getting a blank and making a stock similar to a Weatherby for it and epoxy-bedded/free-floated it. It then shot great!
The next centerfire was a Remington .22-250 700 ADL. I'm on my second one of those, but it's being rebarrelled to .243 Win in a couple of weeks. The .243 Win cartridge is more useful for what I do lately. The barrel is a Pac-Nor stainless super-match, bead-blasted, 24" barrel with Rem sporter contour.
Other Rem 700s I've had were in .30-06, .270 Win and 6mm Rem. I still have the .270, which is my deer and other larger-critter rifle.
