AIM surplus headline: What's your take?

Bottom Line: We have to choose in November between 3 Democrats.

Obama's a diehard Marxist, Clinton's a closet Marxist. McCain's a RINO who has abused and overused his POW status to convince Republicans he's one of them.

I'm stockpiling.

Don't worry about it. Acording to the people who seem to know everything ( such as Al Gorey) by October we'll all be dead from planet warming, getting hit by an comet, an astroid..... Hmmm let me think, what else was on liberal TV news last night?

I didn't notice that when I ordered my CMMG AR Upper from them last week but who knows.

My guess is we get President Obama and an even greater Democrat majority in the House and Senate so I figure might as well get my AR built before Marketing turns to Price Increases before the election.

And I don't care what the SCOTUS determines with the DC case. Liberals only care about the Constitution when they can twist it to make up some new right to excuse some weird behavior or silence views they don't agree with. They had no problem passing Campaign Finance Reform know all along that it was probably un-constitutional. They don't care. So I'd guarantee if we get President Obama, gun control\weapon ban legislation will find it's way to his desk.

I would agree that there would probably be some panic buying in November if a Democrat wins the election, whether the buyers' fears are justified or not.
<shudder>

Gotta consider also that November is only 6 months away, not a long time.
I've put off washing my car for longer.
:uhoh:

They seem to target the headline to sell more magazines. If there is another ban, I think that they will go go after something other than a magazine ban. That was so yesterday!

If there is a ban, they will try a new spin. Microstamping is one approach. They may also try to rebrand an old theme, like take the "Saturday Night Special" on a different track.

Most of the gun grabbing Democrats I've spoken with think the original ban was a joke. They are completely dissatisfied because it did NOTHING to remove guns from the streets or of stopping the manufacture of new ones.

Most of the ones I speak with are in favor of an Australian type of ban which included confiscation. Some of the hoped for policies include: Seizure of semi-automatic rifles and pistols, limits on magazine capacity for guns that aren't seized, 15 year plus prison sentence per violation of the "illegal gun" policy, and a reward system for people who turn in those who keep their guns after the time period, revocation of state concealed carry laws, gun show registration of sales, and transfer of ownership papers for private sales. :barf:

With a majority in Congress, they'd probably swing it and then have 2 years before they catch any backlash in the elections. If they set the law as a permanent fixture with no sunset provision, it would take a Republican majority to overturn it...assuming they even wanted to touch that hot potato.

I'm getting ready for February or March of next year when they announce that you have til such and such a date to turn them in then after that you're going to Federal prison. Some of the guys who are planning to make a profit on selling their rifles are going to be really surprised when they see that no one wants to buy a rifle when it brings along a 15 year stretch in the pokey. When that happens, you won't be able to get $50 for an AR-15, and you won't be able to trust the person you either sell to or buy from cause you never know if they'll turn you in...(as happened in Australia and Canada).

It's really a sad time right now.

The scare tactics by all retailers have been working for years...why change now? Artificial demand for ammo because "the evil dems are going to take it away, tax it to oblivion, etc" is one of the contributing factors of why ammo is so expensive now.

It is obvious from some of these posts that the "head in the sand" tactic is still alive and well.

What the headline actually says is:

November is only getting closer... While we are hoping nothing is going to change, it might not be to soon to start thinking about future availability...

Hardly bombastic scare tactics...........

Scare tactics from the GOP???

I got two words for you: Global Warming.

As to the marketing angle, I see nothing wrong with it. Ammo hoarders have made the ammo price go up far faster than it would have had the panic not set in. Since Aim is not raising prices on mags, then what's the problem?

Straight from the GOP and NRA handbook. Scare and propagandize people.

I think the dems perfected scare tactics. The Republicans are going to take away the school lunch program, the Republicans are going to take away senior citizen health care, the Republicans are going to take away social(ist) security, etc...

But this is getting too political.

But this is getting too political.

:D:D Only when conservatives start making too much sense in the conversation:D:D You are making too much sense so time to lock the thread.

Big, it is all about politics and what you will be legaly allowwed to own in the future.

They are a business and like all businesses subject to goverment edict they must prepare for the worst. Consider what guns you own and your inability to sell those guns because the government says you can't. If you sell them now are you unsrcupulouse??

You're question has been answered accurately, ad nauseum, but you ain't listenin'. Once again, NO !!!! Nothing they said was unscrupulous or alarmist. What they're suggesting is realistic and cautious.
jimmyray summed it up best, "It is obvious from some of these posts that the "head in the sand" tactic is still alive and well."

Consider what guns you own and your inability to sell those guns because the government says you can't. If you sell them now are you unsrcupulouse??

But this is currently not the case. Which is my whole point. It smacks of fear mongering. If I were to sell my own personal weapons now, no, I would not be unscrupulous. If I went to every forum on the internet and all caps-bolded, "END is NEAR. BUY NOW. YOU'LL NEVER GET EM' AGAIN!. EVER." yes I would consider that a tad unscrupulous. None of us knows what is going to happen. Why Chicken Little to move product? I think it's an eye-roller, that's all.

The dealer is just using history to sell his product. High caps went from $20 to $100 under the Clintons and another liberal might just get elected. To point that out is good business for the seller, especially if it may come true.

Your eyes will really roll when a new bunch of gun controlls start should a Democrat be elected. Nuff said on the topic and I move on.
