Bought a new CZ75 compact a few weeks ago and finally got some range time in this past week. The CZ has 3 dot sights..something that is familiar to most shooters. As I have in the past with this system, I aligned the dots and squeezed off a round. The result was a very low hit at 6 oclock. Tried a few more rounds with the same result. Adjusted so the front dot formed a triangle in relation to the rear sight dots. This adjustment put the round where it was aimed. It was strange getting used to it but I managed to do pretty well after a while. I stopped by my gun shop to gab with the owner and talked about my range trip. He said that the CZ is a combat weapon and that European guns not meant for the American market are sighted in this manner. He had a specific name for the set up but my memory isn't what it used to be and it completely escapes me. Anyone have info on this or was I getting smoke blown at me? Either way, the gun has great ergonomics and was flawless in every other regard.

That is unusual. All of my CZs both prior and now, used a standard three dot line up. Contact CZ-USA, and ask Mike Eaglesheild about that.
Yes, CZs are the best handguns on the market today...in my oh so humble opinion...:neener:

That is not how mine works, but that said if I use 115gr bullets it strikes high - 124gr @1200 are exactly on.

Perhaps a stupid question on my part. Are you using a "6 oclock" hold? Both CZ's that I had, (still have the PCR) shot to point of aim.
Be safe..

CZ's are great guns!

BS -- someone trying to sound "expert."

That is NOT the case with CZs (or SIGS, or Berettas, or Glocks, or H&Ks, etc., etc.)

Contact CZ and ask for a higher rear sight. Tell them the distance and how low your shots are.

Seems the sights are off for you and you'd be best off having the front sight dropped or the rear elevated. Don't buy the gunshop story.

Had a CZ85 Combat. Great ergonomics, 100% reliable, and accurate. One of the reasons I got the 85 was for the adjustable rear sight. Good thing, too, as the gun shot pretty low when at the same level as another CZ's fixed rear. By raising the rear, I got bang on target.

European Method

The explanation as to sighting didn't sound right to me either..thus the posting. I was using a standard two handed grip (not tea cupping) and using your basic American Eagle range rounds. The dealer offered to ship it back and have it adjusted to "American standards" and also to pay for the shipping. I'm gonna take him up on it. It just burns my cookies that you should pay that much for a gun and have to immediately ship it back for adjustment. :fire: Raises questions about quality control. Now let's see how CZ stands behind their product. Wish me luck!

My CZ75 shot 4-5" high at 25yrds, I called CZ, and they sent me a lower rear sight. For the cost of shipping, you could have someone change it(CZ, I dont believe, pays for shipping) They wanted the old rear sight, in order to do a free exchange. All that Euro sight picture talk is news to me. Great guns:D

The sights might be off, I know the CZ85b is sighted for 25 yards. Surprised he didn't try to sell you a case of wolf.

Thanks for the chart 0311. I got a link from another thread..ghostholster.com and it looks like I may be able to get adjustable rear sights after market if CZ doesn't fix the problem. Thanks for the input everyone, it's much appreciated.
