Howdy,

I'm looking to mount a scope in the scout position on my M1A. These two scopes look like hey might work for me. Has anyone done this? How did it work for you? Which one is better? How does the length of the scope affect aiming?

My use for the gun is hunting and home defense.

A third contender is the Millet DMS but I think the eye relief is too excessive when mounted forward.

Finally, after lurking here for the past few months, and being impressed by the knowledge and attitudes, I deceided to join. This is my first post...

I have a 2x 9000L. It's a nice, underrated scope. The only negative is the field of view is kind of small, but you can keep both eyes open and it's parralax free. It really is a great scout scope.

I have several 2x 9000Ls mounted scout-style. I liked the idea of a scout setup with an illuminated reticle, so I tried these.

So far, I have no reason to be sad with the choice. I specifically chose the 9000L over the 9000SC to gain mounting options. My theory was that the longer body would make it easier to find a place where both rings would line up with whatever rail I was using.

Ahhhh, very wise - I was wondering why they even made the 9000L - I guess that's why.
