I just got home from taking the grandbabies to daycare. Passing a large kudzu patch,I see in the bright sunlight, a browsing doe tended by a very large buck. They were totally oblivious to passing traffic. The rut here is waning but still active. Oh,yeah,by the way.Alabama's deer season ended YESTERDAY!

I've noticed here the deer are always running through the backyard, walking across the street in the city. Its like no mans land for deer once you get out of the city limits though.

It may have been the Game Warden's remote control dummy deer that they set up for you to come and shoot. Ya'll must ain't got no rednecks around you or that sucker would have been dead!

Seems like the big ones don't run here till after season closes.
The rut here is waning but still active.
Just across the line here we been rabbit huntin now deer season has shut, there is always more buck sign, hot scrapes and hooked trees from Jan into March here. The bucks are still chasing but all you can do is watch. I always see bucks chasing the last week of Dec. here thats when its just gettin started than the season closes Jan.1.

"I guess that is the way it goes aint it."

Then they ain't REAL Rednecks, must be some hybred crossup mutants or some'um...

cause a real redneck woulda shot that sucker even if the Game man was standing there!

I can see right now that we need to send ya'll some new blood over there in 'bama! Hell there is a fresh bus load right down the road from me, all I gota do is go dare them that they can't get to 'bama, they'll do it or bust! I know pass a law that they can't go to 'bama, then they'll sure as heck go!

I've noticed that the deer the state employes to stand on the side of the road for the tourists and such to see are back at work now that the hunting season is closed. I'm pretty sure those deer have a union with very strict rules on 'can/can't do.

It's not just deer. We saw more ducks after closing time on the last day than we did the whole weekend. Some didn't even bother to get up when we drove by on the 4 wheeler. They were sitting on open water ponds right next to the road/trail. They know, I tell ya', somehow they know.

I was coming home from work this evening and saw five deer, including two NICE (for this area) bucks standing on the side of a busy road munching away. :banghead: :D

Let me tell you. They know where the Chancellorsville Battlefield National Park boundry is too.

We're overpopulated with'em, purebred original stock!
How about Washington D.C., sure looks like they could use some, do better that whats up there now.
