GeorgiaCarry.Org & the City of Atlanta have been fighting over carry in the unsecured areas of Hartsfield Jackson Airport for the last 3 years or so. Yes open carry should be allowed also. I probably wouldn't do it personally because I would not want to risk getting into a hassle with the City of Atlanta. City of Atlanta government tends exemplify incompetence & corruption.
The name of the legislator & the bill number slip my mind at the moment but there was legislation that was supposed to make this legal a few years ago. The city still said no. GeorgiaCarry filed a lawsuit against the city of Atlanta then. The outcome of that was that GeorgiaCarry lost when a federal judge said the bill meant to legalize this did not say what the legislator that wrote it said it meant. Then SB308 passed last year clearing the air about many ambiguities in Georgia's carry laws & getting rid of many restrictions. Then the city came out with this statement without a lot of fanfare. I guess their lawyers reviewed the new law & they did not want to go through the expense of another lawsuit. I apologize for not remembering the legilators name or the bill number but things have gotten a lot better for Georgia Weapons License holders the past few years.
