ive drilled out many of the rivets already... a center punch helped.. but i still managed to egg a couple holes.. this isnt going to be too much of a problem, is it?.. im going with a screw build btw.. the threads should help fix that some.. i think im ok.. and i did manage to get the front rivets drilled out nicely.. im only drilling as far as i have to to get the screw in all the way.. and i got about a quarter in in each hole for the front trunion.. if that... i shouldnt have much to worry about, right?

I'd be dubious of anyone who could claim to answer that over the internet (that is, without inspect the rifle).

You're using a non-traditional approach to reassembling the rifle to begin with--if you're seeing something that makes you question it, respect your instincts. You could be severely injured if the fasteners fail, especialy on the rear trunnion.

If those holes are egged or oversized, the recoil could lead to premature failure/stressing of the receiver? Just like you want to make sure a buttstock is pulled in tight, i'd think those holes should match the screw size.

I'd maybe consider going to the next larger size screw? Maybe...

Maybe post pix on some of the dedicated build sites?
