Okay, are there any advantages to the double hook trigger group for an AK?

I know the AK 100+ series uses the single hook triggers, but it seems like all of the top custom jobs here in the states use the double hook. This has me thinking that it is nothing but a fad, but I would like to hear other opinions.

My guess would be the double hook give a more even release of the hammer, but the difference is probably pretty minute.

The Saiga is setup to use a single hook trigger, but can easily be changed with dremel.

Double hooks were originally for milled receivers and single-hooks for stamped. However, a lot of US stamped receivers and flats are cut for double hooks, so you can use either. I prefer double-hooks for more positive catching and use them for all of my builds (usually flats).

If your receiver is cut for only a single hook, 5 minutes with a dremel and even a caveman can cut the second slot. (signal psychiatrist)
