Ak/Draco Question

Hello AK gurus, today i decided to change the draco's hand guard so i got an AKM hand guard from Magpul, however i noticed a gap on both sides between the gas tube and the front trunnion and i can see the piston rod. Is that normal? I haven't use ak often enough to remember.

Is that the original gas tube that came with the gun or replacement gas tube?

Either way I'm sure it will work just fine. It's an AK.

As long as it snugs up tight, wouldnt worry about it.

Quick update,

I stopped by my LGS today to buy some ammo and look at 2 other Dracos as well as an AK, they all looked exactly the same as mine. The gun has been very reliable in the pass, I guess I never took the time to look at it that close... After all is an AK hahaha
