I made the mistake of holding an AK again. It followed me home. It is a CAI "Polish" milled 1960. Everything is nice and tight. Minimal cant. The wood is nasty though.

I want to dress it up some. Not railed and tactical, but "classy". Ive decided to go with that purplish (plum?) or maybe some nice blonde wood furniture. With all the AK variants out there I am looking for one to fit.

Its milled and has a tab coming off the rear of the receiver about an inch long along the spine of the stock.

I am not well versed in AKs. Any input or info would help. 2 of my three mags are very tight to remove. Looking at the tabs on the rear of the mags have little gouges from the mag release. I am going to try and smooth out the release without changing the height.

Anything else I should know.

Thanks

Make sure you check that what you buy is suitable for a milled receiver. I have seen some stocks that will only fit a stamped receiver, I guess the internal dimensions are slightly different.

That tab coming off the back of the receiver is the rear trunion, this is what the stock attaches to.
