I was under the impression that the buttstock was different, but all the other parts interchanged freely.

I have a converted SLR101 (SAM-7 config) that I am looking to put olive green furniture on, but I am not sure the handguards are the same between the various AKs. I would have assumed yes, but after looking at KVAR, I am having doubts. Specifically, will the TAPCO galil handguards work on a milled gun?

If it turns out to be too much of a pain i the ass, maybe I can do a plum furniture set from kvar.

The front handguard will not swap out, the milled receiver is thicker, so the tab on the handguard would be too wide.

However, its poylmer, so it should be pretty easy to modify one to work i would think, as long as the tab is solid, not hollow.

Kinda of OT, but.

If you want a B.S. free environment such as we have here at THR, avoid gunsnet at all costs. Yes there is a wealth of information there and some very knowledgable and helpful members, but there is a dirty dark underbelly to deal with. If you enjoy board politics, thread deletions and censorship to keep advertisers happy that's what you'll find. And don't dare disagree with or challenge the mods or the admin. or you'll have your hand slapped and be banned in short order.

I was a member for a short time and learned much about these fine utility weapons. After experiencing the above stated problems, I'll go elsewhere and continue to advise others to do the same. These have been MY observations and personal dealings, as usual YMMV.

The link is fine, its not really gunsnet, just some some guys FAQ that they host. It probably doesnt apply much here, since its all romanian though.

I read gunsnet here and there. They do have a lot of info, you just have to keep in mind anything concerning a sponsor there is going to be well polished. I basically browse the for sale board here and there (although its damn near impossible to get a deal, there are like people that just sit there and refresh it apparently), and when i need to search for something, since ak47.net wont let me search worth a damn.

The Linx310 pages have been around awhile, on different servers. A bunch of good info there. A link to an illustrated tutorial on FCG matters like assemply and trigger slap fix avoids a whole lot of typing.
