Ak furniture options.

Hey all. I am looking to get some new wood furniture for my SAR3, but am tempted to get one of the various synthetic furniture / AR type stock conversions...

But I want it to remain an AK. Not a leggo build.

I found this for $275, but have seen no feedback. Anyone have any E93 gear?

I like their sling plate option for a SP sling too.

Any feedback or recommendations?

I've bought a stock set and other stuff from RTG ( www.robertrtg.com/ak.html ) and have been very happy with the product. Might get some cool looking Bakelite w/o breaking the bank.

Just installed an Arsenal "Nato Length" stock today. I love how it looks, but it's a pain in the butt to get on there. You really do need a hammer to get it in! I whacked at it for 15 minutes or so, and even now, there's still a tiny gap between the stock and the frame. Other than that, it seems very solid, and it's aesthetically pleasing. I'm a fan. Get on if that's your kinda thing.

There is supposed to be a gap between the receiver and the cuts on the stock.

I am thinking of getting the NATO length stock for my AK as well.

It's really solid feeling, and the length is perfect for me. The trapdoor in the back is a great addition, too. I'm a fan. Just threw a US PALM AK Battle Grip on it as well.

Honestly, it was down to the US PALM or the Hogue for me too. I have owned a lot of Hogues in my life, and I absolutely love them. I just personally preferred the look and feel of the US PALM on the AK. YMMV.

I'm wondering about the new magpul grip. I may give it a try when it comes out.

I know they are supposed to be releasing the first of two ak mags here very soon. As far as the kvar front end goes do you happen to know anyone that has installed a picatinny rail on the bottom to put a for grip on?

Recently finished reworking/fitting my AK, which was an enjoyable distraction during our rainy season.

Trigger job, smoothed out action, replaced original ironwood blonde furniture with Arsenal (polymer) hand-guard, ERGO pistol grip, Krebs rear sight receiver Picatinny rail, Krebs enhanced safety selector, MAKO collapsible butt stock w/adjustable cheek riser, and QD sling swivel.

That's the Krebs rear picatinny rail deal. It has a rear aperture peep sight on it. Its kind of like the Texas weapons systems dog leg but the Krebs is over 300.00 the tws dog leg is under 200.00

That is correct. Purchased it through Midway several months ago using a coupon, which saved about $50, but it's still pricey.

Was interested in the Ultimak rail, but concerned about the occasional overheating (optics) comments I’ve read about in the forums and the short sight radius.
