So after 15 weeks my M92 PAP AK pistol got approval. (Guess that $200 bribe worked again).

Today I ordered the last of the parts for it, I had asked for input awhile back in this thread here: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=785203

And figured I'd post what I settled on.

I ordered the Manticore Triangle stock, muzzle brake and fore end as seen in the first picture. I also ordered the Texas Weapon Systems dog leg gen 2 dust cover, rail and rear peep as seen in the second picture. I've got a Hogue grip and red dot to throw on and it'll be done until I can spend some time with it and see if there's anything I want to change.
Texas Weapon System has a fore end too but at $280 which I think I'll hold off on for now (this isn't my primary rifle).

What do you guys think?
Anything to add?
Also, any sling ideas? (Lefty friendly but I like to be able to transition to either shoulder without changing the setup)

congrats ! I think you made excellent choice to turn it into a very good CQB weapon, I would go that way too. ;)

Did you have to replace any parts for 922R compliance?
922r is more for importation, once in the hands of the end user, its kind of hard to prove if a hunk of metal came from here or there (and I don't think they've ever tried to prosecute individuals, just importers). That being said, based on this 922r compliance calculator, this setup will be compliant without having to change anything that isn't already being changed (butt stock, muzzle device, grip, fore end, and the Magpul mags).

Interestingly enough, (I always like to point out the stupidity of some of the gun laws to non-gun friends, like how a short barrel rifle is too dangerous for civilians to own... unless... you gave them, say, $200, then you can have one), in regards to 922r compliance, this setup with a 30 round (Magpul) magazine is legal, swap it out for a 5 round Yugo mag, illegal. So the government is kind of strong arming us to use 30 rounders... :)

Excellent choice!

I did the same thing with the M-85 except I made it a folder. Did you put a wedge under the hinge to correct the angle of the stock when folded ... If so where did you get it?

I've been considering getting the M-92, instead of SBRing it permanently attaching a barrel extension on it to make it 16" like this:

I did muzzle device, trigger/hammer/disconnecter, buttstock, pistol grip to get down to 10 imported parts and can use any magazines I want. I prefer the Croatian maple-leaf mags--they fit nice and snug.
Despite a tiny bit of mold, I redid the forearm with linseed oil. I sanded the first 4 coats but only lightly wiped the final coat for a semi-gloss.

PS. The Tapco G2 will get you 3 parts (would be 4 but the ATF has decided--by decree-they don't double count the seer and trigger) and it just about the best trigger you can get for an AK--it's really nice. After about 200 cycles intermixed with 4 sets of boosting it 5 times in a row (20 total), I got the pull to be clean with no creep and under 4lb.
