sounds about the price of an AR mag not AK....go online if you want to get the BEST deal, or if your like me go into the shop and support gunshops for a few extra bucks, I think there well spent :D

Kinda Depends...

...on what kind of mag it is. For a Bulgy steel one (new, unissued) , I wouldn't have a problem spending $ 15 - its not a total ripoff, if you skip the Internet S&H.

Seems a bit pricey for some mags, particulary used ones.

Depends on supply and demand and what youre looking for. I got most of my 40 rounders (ruskie steel) for 9 each like 2 years ago. I got a few more 40 rders (bulgarian waffles) for 29 each half a year ago.

I think I have seen new for $10 and used for $8, but I don't remember what country they came from. Shipping is on top of that though. $15 is not too bad at all if you like the dealer. You don't have to wait for them either.

I believe they are the kind with the rib down the side. I like to support Shannocks than Walmart if I can.

Its not a good price for 30 rders.I paid between $1-5 for my Chicom mags.Centerfire sytems has 4 for $30 with a mag pouch.
I bought some 40rders for $10 a while back.Consider buying used so long as they are not excessivly worn dented or rusted.

Steelcore, have you seen those $5 prices lately?

I bought 4 for $30 last fall, but they were well used east german mags. They work, but they are definitely used. Lately, 4 for $40 is the best I have seen in a package. I think Tapco had the $8 used mags a could months ago.

Just bought 3 excellent condition used E. German mags for $10 each.
I've also bought the Centerfire package and some were excellent and some had minor rust.

Crosshair, when and where?

My Dad bought a bunch of GI surplus M14 mags for $1 each. However, that was 30 years ago and, while interesting, is not really very useful information right now. :)

$15 is not a bad in-store price for AK mags. You can get them cheaper online, but be sure to factor in shipping costs, plus you have to wait to get them. If i needed a magazine and didnt want to wait for it I would be hapy to pay $15 for a couple from a shop. If your gonna stock up on a bunch of them I would find a better deal online though.

I bought them from a fellow THR member awhile ago who had sold his AK and wanted to get rid of the magazines. Not sure what country they came from, but they are all reliable. Ran one mag over with my car for the hell of it. (I was with a few friends and they dared me to do it. ) The mag came out with only a few scratches on it. That's what I call durable.

Check out the 5 for $54 (shipping included) deal on the Odds n Ends page at dansammo.com. I just got some of these and they are NIC (new in cosmoline :) ).
