I use the Mojo peep sight on my SLR-95 and love it.

I love my SKS TechSight - I am really looking forward to their Ak sight. Sooner the better!

Roger that. I tried the TechSights on a Ruger 10/22 the other day and fell in love. Much better than the Mojo that is so darn far away.

What's the construction like on the Williams peep, anyone have one? Looks like it could be a little fragile.

I wouldn't call the william's sights fragile but I do worry about them at times. I have them on both my AK and my Marlin 336. I havn't taken them into combat but they've been on my guns for almost a year now with 1000s of rounds through the AK and probably 200 through the 336 with no problems. I will use them again.

heck, I'm interested in when those Tech-sights are going to come out. Over a year later and they're still listed as "coming soon!"

Query: Define "soon".

They look like a nice, low cost solution, but fer cryin' out loud, the firearms industry makes the software industry look on time and under budget.

Always wondered for the Saiga conversion crowd, anyone want to have a go at making a rear peep that uses the existing rear holes in the receiver for an attachment point?

You know the holes that everyone without a Tig or Mig just puts the plastic plugs into...

VERY nice! I'm scared of the price though...but very nice! I bet you could then add one of the AR flip up sights, no?
Look closely; that's an AR rear sight already installed.

An AR flip-up BUIS mounted atop an AK rail would be way too high to line up with the front sight post.

Holy year old thread, but the problem still remains. i CANT STAND the stock sights, my eyes , even though im 20 are fairly bad. I wanted to get a cobra, but upon reading i think im just going to go for the original mojo.

40 bucks and a noticable difference is good enough for me!

With regards to the Tech-sight, how do you get to the top-cover latch? Is it a matter of taking the whole sight off?
No idea, can't tell from the pictures, and no one has one to advise. It's been Coming Soon! for a year and a half now. ;)

MD Willington, what holes are you talking about? I just looked for them on my Saiga, and it doesn't have any . . .

Hi Guys,
Its been a while since I have posted anything about the AK sight from Tech-SIGHTS. It is getting closer to release. We tested the first item sights from the tooling last weekend and things went very well. The sights have been delayed with a change in manufacturing method. Our original thought was to CNC machine the sight base from solid bar stock, but the cost of machining was too high. We decided to go to a MIM Steel part for the sight base. This gives a steel part equal in quality and strength to the part machined from bar. I have attached a picture of a Romanian fitted with the AK100 sight being field tested at the range this last weekend.

Looks like a nice one Larry! Looking forward to seeing how it attaches and such.

Wow, I will be all over this if it ever comes out. I would love to ditch my PK-AS optic and go to a good iron sight. I had to go with optics on my WASR not because I like red-dots but because the v-notch sights are so horrible.

I assume we still don't know how this attaches and if it moves when you remove the top cover?

I don't post too much but I had to express my excitement for this product! Hope you guys get final manufacturing soon, and make sure to keep us updated.:D

looks pretty nice! I just ordered my SKS tech sights, I can't wait to take them out and do a comparison to the stock sights and see the difference it makes.

ooh, and a set for my marlin 60 will be next..

I thought I would give you an update. The tooling is finished and we are beginning production. We hope to be shipping in April. Here is a shot of the AK100 model on a Romanian.

That looks very slick.

Questions:

1. How does it attach?

2. What is the procedure for removing the dustcover/field stripping?

Thanks,

Mike

Yes it requires a new cover even though the sight is mounted to the receiver and not the cover. The new cover will be included with the sight. The sight mounts to the tee slot in the rear trunion of the receiver cover. This patent pending design makes for a stable return to zero after disassembly and the tip of a 7.62 round is all that is required for take down.

Hmmm, I have the Techsights for my Yugo SKS and Marlin 60. Might as well starting looking for an AK for a good price. Love finding a new excuse to buy a new rifle. ;)
