I have been using an Arsenal SAM7 pistol, and find it interesting to shoot from inside a vehicle. For use outside the vehicle, and from a standing (or kneeling, sitting, etc) position, I discovered that the factory supplied sling was not long enough, resulting in a few bloodied lips from the cover latch. The simple solution was to add a section of longer webbing, and now it is much better. I plan to alter the front hand guard by adding a short section of Magpul rail, for the addition of a Streamlight TRL-1 flashlight. Also of interest that the Arsenal pistol features a safety lever on the left side (in addition to the common AK lever), enabling a right-handed shooter to easily engage it with the right thumb of the shooting hand. The sights are a front post (adjustable) and a adjustable peep or grooved type rear. Accuracy at seventy-five yards hovers around 1.5" with Tulamo and Federal ball.
As for vehicle shooting: brass ejection is quite violent, so use a junker vehicle, and not your nice new car. A floor mounted rack works well, but be sure to use muzzle discipline, especially when going "around the globe" with the steering wheel. Cross-chest carry can be done, but again the muzzle issue comes up. Shooting through the windshield was best done by "softening" a spot through the glass using the first few rounds, with some of those going on target using soft point ammunition. Ball was not as easy. Blasting through the side doors produced mixed results, as did shooting through the window glass. best bet for me would be to engage a perp through the OPEN window. One more mention: USE HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION if you try this. It was VERY loud, and glass and other debris went everywhere.
Have fun, and be safe!
