AK Pistol?

I've been looking at AK rifles, and have seen these pistols around, and I have a few questions about them.

I'm just looking at using it for plinking, and maybe urban chaos type stuff (ie riots etc.) and that's why I might consider one of these. Is the recoil managable? What is the advantage of it over an AK rifle? How does the short barrel alter the 7.62 ballistics? How's the accuracy? Am I better off just getting a rifle?

Accuracy isn't extremely important, as I shoot at mostly 50yds or closer, with 100yds being my max range.

Just get a regular AK. More versatile.

I have thought about picking up one of those on a couple of occasions but every one I have handled so far has the front sight canted on it. Have to wait until I come across one in better shape.

That's kinda what I'm thinking, problem is the only ones around here are WASR-10's and I don't like their quality. I just have to decide between an underfolder and a sidefolder if I rule out the pistol entirely.

its ok, but lack of stock will put your follow up shots way out there

absolutly none. get an underfolder, it will only add like, 3 inches to the barrel and you will have a stock

Or you could invest $200 on a tax stamp and get an AK SBR.

The wife's been wanting to buy one...found a couple 'decent' ones at a local gun store,but its a toss up between AK pistol (we already have many AK's and 3 Saigas)or going for a M1 Garand...

it doesn't matter if the sight is canted on a AK pistol..... it is a spray and pray weapon...... or to some people like me, just a plinking toy....not the gun I choose for self defense. But I love blasting thru the 75 round drums out of mine as fast as I can pull the trigger....

Wow. Those have GOT to be heavy with a full 75 round drum on them.

Personally... I wouldn't want my AK without the stock on it. I've got the full wooden stock. The wire/underfolders don't agree with my face.

wdlsguy, can you unfold that stock with a mag in place? Doesn't look like it...

I have been told that the stock will unfold with the magazine in place. I have one of these being built right now, so I hope to have first-hand experience in a few weeks.

The underfolder equipped AKs are designed to fold or unfold with a 30 round magazine in place.
