i was at a gun show, i was next to guy, that was looking at an ak74(?) with a nylon stock. the tag said centry arms. it was only $280...i was not looking for an ak, but it sounds like a good deal to me...any input would be helpful..the big question is worth $280...gpr

Just remember that the AK74 is chambered in 5.45x39 as opposed to the 7.62x39 of the AK47.

5.45 is an interesting round, but it might be hard to find.

Agreed, not all gun shops will carry it. However, shouldn't be much of a problem finding online in bulk.

I just bought one, paid about that for mine from AIM surpluss. Be sure to cycle it and really look it over. I had to send mine back to Century; they fixed it properly. I tested it out Saturday. I really like the little rifle, its accurate, light recoiling, and seems fast handling. Ammo is very cheap (online). I'd recomend going for it, as long as it checks out ok.
