So I bought a box of 50 Winchester Super X 22lr from wally world last week. Got around to opening them up to look at them and noticed something very odd. Its hard to see in the picture, but in amongst the 49 copper jacketed hollow point rounds is ONE non jacketed, soft point (far right of three rounds on the table). Lucky it was sitting face up, and not down so I saw it right away. It still has the Super X case and all. Looked around and found out about the Winchester re-call,

Yep, my box was one of the re-called ones that may have a double charge (I seriously wonder if that odd ball soft point is one of the 2x charges)
So I do the right thing and call the Wal-Mart here in Akron, Ohio to let them know. I get the store manager and this is how our conversation goes--
Me: I just wanted to let you know that I recently bought a box of ammunition from your store that is under a re-call.
Manager: Thanks, I'll check into it
Me: Ummm..... Don't you want to know what it is?
Manager: Big sigh.... Fine, whatever.
Me: Its Winchester...
Manager: I'll look into it. Thanks for calling...
Me: Look, you sell a lot of Winchester ammo, don't you want to know which one? By the way it has a potential double charge and could injure or kill someone if shot.
Manager: Again with the big pause of disinterest, Fine, I'll check on it. Hangs up.
***. He didn't even get what caliber it was or anything. He basically said in no uncertain terms he would not bother with it. If he really was looking into it why would he not have wanted all the info he could? What an assclown. He is putting anyone who buys those rounds in a potentially dangerous or deadly situation.
I think it is time to get in touch with the district manager and let them know exactly what this clown did, and the danger he was putting anyone who shoots those rounds in, and even the danger to a lawsuit he is placing Wal-Mart in.
