I’ve always thought a tax credit, or deduction, for gun safes should get support from both sides.

After four pages, the most helpful solution is to have a lockable strong box in your vehicle anchored to your vehicles floor or seat frame by cable or bolt. This would eliminate most of the theft of firearms by juveniles, drug addicts, code theft and other more casual perpetrators.
I would add that firearm theft should require a minimum twenty-five year sentence with no eligibility of parole, lifetime probation and no restoration of rights for your lifetime. Crimes committed with stolen firearms should require a thirty-five year sentence with the same conditions.
And while I’m standing on the soap box, there are millions of criminals free today that are walking crime waves with multiple crimes committed that they have been caught and prosecuted for. Yet nobody even estimates the number of crimes they have committed without be caught. Are there two other crimes they have committed for every prosecution, four, eight, ten, fifteen, twenty, or more? I say we remove “criminal” as an occupation in the U.S. Criminals need to be afraid of the consequences.

I thought the most helpful solution was not to leave it in the car.
Get a lock box, don't leave it in your vehicle in the first place... Whichever you choose, be safe and use your head. 4 pages and we are getting off into judicial reform, which is not on topic for THR. Let's call it a day.
