I have an old Stevens 311 SxS 12 gauge which has very bad barrel alignment. The right bbl shoots a foot or more lower than the left bbl. Left bbl shoots to the sight quite well. The difference in barrel elevation is clearly visible at the muzzle. Is unsoldering, realigning and resoldering a possible do-it-yourself job? I would have to use cold-blue or pay a gunsmith for blueing. The cost of a gunsmith doing the job would be many times the value of the gun, but I like to tinker. Is barrel warpage from heating a problem? What other problems might I run into? Thanks for any replies.
