allen's slip on recoil pad?

I have various types of slip on recoil pads and wanted to know if you could fabricate something or other to keep the butt part of the pad from slipping over to either side of the buttstock? I've narrowed down my butt size down to small. Thanks

I used one on a Rossi Single shot 12, I got it for less than $100 so I messed with it a lil. The sling screw it took out and rescrewed through the rubber, and I took some shims and put em on top to stretch it. Also put some filler cotton balls inside inbetween the stock and pad. Dunno if that helps.

Is this to be a permanent alteration? If so, get a pad you like that is the proper size and affix it with screws. Some may need to be ground to fit the contour, but they won't move
