Alliant Bullseye Smokeless Powder

Bullseye is almost as versatile as Unique. I've used it in 9/38/357/40/45 and low recoil .308 loads. It's not the best for all loads, but it works very well for medium speed loads in all these cartridges. It likes to be loaded in its upper pressure ranges (like most powders) and leaves more soot than most newer powders. It will turn a stainless revolver into what looks like a blued revolver in about 50 shots, but it cleans off just fine. It is denser than Unique so it's easier to double charge. Another good new powder from Alliant is BE-86. About the same density as BE, cleaner and just a tick slower than Unique. Like most pistol/shotgun powders, they're all very spotty in terms of availability.
I don't know about the fouling that you're getting. I can go through well over 500 rounds before mine ever get that dirty. 50 rounds and I can get away with a cloth and rem oil.

Yeah, I agree. Bullseye is much cleaner than its reputation. In light loads I get a trace of black soot, but no unburned powder. My .45 could go many hundreds of rounds with coated bullets and Bullseye before it needs a cleaning. Far cleaner than Unique.

200 LSWC with 4.0 grains Bullseye,

The load above is down right on the money. I have been shooting it for quite a few years myself, but mainly was "just shooting it". Just recently I began to really bear down on my targets and see just what it would do.

Well I am not out to 50 with them just yet, but with these two 10 shot groups from 10yds and some pretty close to these at 25, it's hard not to believe in Bullseye,

I get VERY similar results with it using the same load under a Berry's 115, or 124gr HBRN as well in my 9mm.

I agree it seems a little sooty but, so what. It takes about 30 minutes with a rag and everything is nice and shiny once again as it should be. I can live with that.

Now that said my preferred powders are AA 2,thru 9 for handgun. But like has been mentioned use what you like and have fun with it.

200 gr LSWC over 4.0 gr of Bullseye and call me in the morning.

1.25 OAL
+1. This happens to be my absolute favorite load in my 1911. Fun to shoot and accurate.

But hey, if it doesn't work for you, stick with your 700x. Certainly nothing wrong with using what you like.
