I found a deal on a few AR parts awhile ago back. So started to put together a 300 blackout pistol. Here is the result. With help from a buddy who has the tools put it together last weekend. Last thing to get is sights and the KAK pistol tube extensions for the sig brace. Going with Magpul polys in FDE and would like to cerakote the upper, lower, handguard and buffer tube in FDE for a change of look. The only cost issue I had was sent the lower to the wrong FFL he charged me 10 more for an stripped AR lower. :fire: Now to shoot it but buddy who helped put it together asked me to wait until he gets in town. Said that was the cost of the tools and knowledge. I can work with that.

Was able to take it out for its first shoot. FTF on every shot every thing worked great would not pick up a new round. So was thinking that I was not getting enough back pressure in the tube. The smith at the local shop agreed with me. So he bored out the gas port for me. Back to the range I went FTF again. So back to the shop again. He asked which ammo I was using. I said the Remington which he pointed out and I did not know was sub-sonic. Picked up some Hornady and every thing worked great. He said it did feel like I had a heavy buffer spring.

So my question in all of this is I would love to shoot it suppressed at some point. Should I look at switching to a lighter buffer, buffer spring or open up the gas port some more?

Thanks

The suppressor will give you more back pressure, so it may cycle with a suppressor, but you may need a lighter buffer too.
