After finally starting to reload after all these years, I think I am ALMOST ready for first season hunting with handloads.

1x fired Lapua .308 Win brass
46 gr. Varget
165 SGK
Win. primers
OAL 2.275

Sighted in 2.5" high at 100 yds. on sandbags.

Thanks for the help getting started. Now I have moved on to reloading .45 Colt. I think I see a turret press in my future.

Me too!!! Thanks to help from this site I cast up a whole bunch of Lyman 525 grain 12 gauge slugs (500 grains from wheel weight alloy) and loaded them up yesterday on a Lee Loadall. I was tickled pink with my first group . . nowhere near as nice as your group but all the shots were touching . . .of course 5 shots touching at .602 can cover ALOT of the target. :)

I just need to figure out if it's normal for the star crimp on these shells to pop up slightly or if I need to get different wads, etc. (Wish we could shoot rifles here!!)

Have a good one,
Dave
