Good Day!
I am a new member to this group and owner of a P64. I've learned a lot about the differences between the "real" Makarov and the many variants. Although not yet disappointed with my purchase I wish I had researched the Makarov models before purchase. My question is whether there exsist any aftermarket grips specifically for the Polish manufactured 9x18 pistols? I like the Pachmayr wrap around signature grips but apparently Pachmayr does not make a grip for the P64 model. Seems like have read that Makarov.com once produced grips and other parts for these guns but is no longer in business. Does anyone know of any rubber grip available or source for one of the Makarov.com grip assuming it fits the P64? Thanks for any suggestions, oscar

Wow,

Gorgeous.

So much so that I just ordered Marschal grips for my Makarov. I got walnut, red shellac with checkered red star finish. Sweet!

The Polish P64 is not a "Makarov variant". It's actually fairly close copy of the Walther PPK.

Now it is chambered in 9x18 also known as "9mm Makarov". That's where the confusion comes from. But the reality is just because a gun is chambered in .223 Remington doesn't make it a Remington.

I like my P64...small, reliable, etc. Not something I want to run 100 rounds though in one sitting (if I want to shoot 9x18 my CZ82 is much more comfortable) but I like it.

Be aware that the Marschals grips have had problems with the wood breaking. The newest versions have a dowel added and more relief around the frame to avoid breaking. Hopefully the latest versions are holding up well. I wouldn't mind getting a pair someday if the kinks are worked out.

I also want a pair of "wraparound" grips for my Yugo M57...hoping it will help the gun feel a bit more natural pointing.

Post some pics when you get your grips!

owr,

as a reloader, i normally favor revolvers; i don't know what it is about this caliber...except perhaps many arms chambered for it are c&r eligible, allowing me to by-pass the gunstore stuff, plus steel-cased ammo is soooo cheap.

i have a two p-64s, a bulgarian mak and a cz82 in 9x18. all are great values, so don't limit yourself to one...the prices are going to go up as the supplies dwindle.

Designer grips. They do all kinds of custom work. Camo, skulls, scorpins, glow in the dark stuff. Anything u dream of and that guy will do it. And you get it shipped withen a week

Sorry to resurrect the dead, but this seemed like an appropriate place to ask...

Are any of you currently ordering from Marschal AND getting grips? I read somewhere on this site that the consensus was they weren't making grips anymore. Couldn't re-find the thread where that comment had been made. I need (want) a set of their grips for my just ordered P-64, but really don't want to throw my money down the drain.

Any current experience?

Well it's not for my p64, but I ordered some about a year ago for my sig p6, took a bit to get here, but well worth the wait

For me, the custom laminated wood grips suck. The angle and width make the gun painful to shoot...even more so than the plastic grips.
