I have a Taurus 44ss4 which I really like, and that shoots well.

The adjustable rear sight and dayglo orange front ramp are really accurate, but not very intuitive. They work really well, but you REALLY have to focus on them in a 4" sight line to get them to function perfectly. When you do, they are great. Any amount of sloppiness, not so great.

So, I'm milling about for some alternatives.

Looks like Lasersyte offers a bolton that fits around the factory grips....anyone got experience with these ?

Crimson trace does not apparently make a set for large frame tauri except the judge....if someone has something that contradicts this, I'd love to see/hear it.

Alternatively, if anyone knows of any good aftermarket "Irons" that are a little more intuitive, I'd be happy to hear recommendations on those, too.

Thanks for reading, and your input.

I's just a fact of life that sights have to be perfectly aligned for precision accuracy.

The shorter the barrel the more so.

Lasers are not the end-all sighting system either IMO.
Red lasers are nearly invisible in direct sun, or deep woods green foliage, or against black target centers, so are next to worthless in the daytime for hunting or target shooting.

The most accurate target handgun sights, proven over many years of Bullseye and long range handgun shooting, is plain black with a post or Patridge front sight to cut down on glare off the sides.

As I am well aware, RC.

However this :

feels much more like this :

Than it rightly should.

I'd also like to point out that taking a picture of that sight picture is much worse than trying to use it in the field !

Maybe you are trying to focus on the rear sight and align it with the front sight, while also trying to focus on the target.

You can't focus on more then one thing at a time.

So, focus on the front sight only and let the rear sight and target take care of themselves.

They will, if you let them.

I have no idea about availability, but try Hi-Viz fiber optic front sight if you can.
I just got a 4" SP101 with the F/O front sight, and I am blown away by its visibility. In daylight hours, of course.
